The training pathway

After Open Water Diver, SSI's system branches out from specialty courses into extended-range and professional tracks. Here's where each course we teach sits in that bigger picture — the courses below are the ones we currently offer in La Paz.

Specialty courses

Build your skills, one dive at a time

Take these in any order that fits your goals and schedule — most can be combined with a regular fun-dive day.

$3,500 MXN per day of diving, plus the SSI certification. Theory-only courses: $1,000 MXN plus the SSI certification.

01 — Perfect Buoyancy

Fine-tune trim, weighting and control — the skill that improves every other dive.

02 — Navigation

Natural and compass navigation, so you can find your way — and back — underwater.

03 — Deep Diving

Extend your depth range safely, with the planning and gas-management skills it requires.

04 — Night & Limited Visibility

Dive after dark and in low-visibility water, with the right lights and communication skills.

05 — Enriched Air Nitrox

Longer bottom times and shorter surface intervals, diving on enriched air blends.

06 — Science of Diving

The physics and physiology behind diving — useful background for any advanced diver.

07 — Diver Stress & Rescue

Recognize and manage diver stress, and respond effectively in an emergency.

08 — React Right

First aid and CPR for the water and boat environment — pairs well with Rescue.
